How to see a user's existing barcode
This article details how to pull up a user's existing barcode to scan for future ultrasounds
- If a returning Momitalk user visits your studio, you can retrieve their existing barcode instead of issuing a new one.
- This ensures a seamless experience, allowing their ultrasound session to be automatically linked to their existing baby profile without requiring any additional setup.
How to Retrieve a Client’s Existing Barcode
Follow these steps to locate a client’s existing barcode:
- Open the Momitalk application on the client’s phone.
- Tap the "Ultrasound" icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Click the small barcode icon in the top-right corner.
- Note: If this icon is not visible, the client has not added a barcode. In this case, proceed with issuing a new barcode for their session.
- The barcode will appear at the bottom of the application.
- Scan the barcode using your studio’s barcode scanner. (The scanner is compatible with mobile screens.)

Important Notes
- If a client forgets their phone or cannot log in, you may issue them a new barcode.
- There is no limit to how many barcodes a user can add to their baby profile.
- Once a barcode is linked to a profile, it cannot be assigned to another profile.
Tip for Gender Reveal Clients
- If a client is planning a gender reveal and already has a Momitalk profile, it is recommended to issue them a new barcode.
Steps to ensure a surprise reveal:
- Before handing the client their new barcode, log in to your admin portal.
- Hide any reveal photos. (remember to hit the save button)
- Issue the new barcode to the client.
This precaution ensures that the client does not accidentally see any gender-revealing images or videos when their barcode is scanned.
